Reincarnated History: Daenerys was born in Florida, in the middle of a hurricane. Her mother died of a stroke during birth -- somewhat common during childbirth due to the extreme spikes in blood pressure, it was complicated by the fact that her mother was 44 and at a higher risk. Her twenty-year-old brother and father also died in the hurricane trying to get to the hospital, leaving only Daenerys and her seven-year-old brother, Vincent. The siblings were left orphaned, and while Vincent was too old for most to want to adopt, Daenerys had a minor heart condition that corrected itself as she grew up, but prevented her from being able to be adopted.

Daenerys spent most of her childhood in and out of foster care and the care of various family members, but most of their family was either too old to be keeping up with babies or too young to be raising anyone but themselves. The system tried to keep her and Vince together, as they usually do, so Daenerys did know her brother and have a relationship with him, but she was often separated from him. Eventually, though, when Daenerys was eleven, Vince turned eighteen and took custody of her, using the inherited money he finally had access to to move them far, far away from Florida, to Locke City. But despite being a legal adult, Vince was still a stupid kid in reality, especially after an environment like foster care (the Florida system is particularly stressed). He quickly spent all their money, and very soon had to start taking minimum wage jobs to try and get them by, forcing Daenerys to do whatever work would have her too, even though she was only twelve or thirteen by this time, and panhandling on the street when she couldn't find work and wasn't in school. Always a little unhinged, Vince quickly got mean, and became abusive toward Daenerys whenever she did something wrong.

By the time she was eighteen, she'd learned that usually the best way to make a buck was illegally. Now that she controlled her own finances and had a hand in the money of the household, she and Vince actually began to do okay. Except that now they were dodging cops, and trapped in a holding pattern of crime without the resources to get out -- any jobs that might have supported them were skilled, and they were too busy just getting by to get any kind of that education. The stress and drama of this lifestyle took a toll on both siblings, and Vince's outbursts became more frequent, not really ceasing when Daenerys started to hit him back.

However, she couldn't bring herself to leave him entirely -- it was obvious that foster care and raising her had messed him up badly, and she was pretty sure he'd either kill himself or get himself killed if he didn't have her to help control him. This was her life when, at nineteen, she met Drake.

He was the head of the local motorcycle gang and immediately taken with Daenerys, and it didn't take long for him to claim her as his old lady. He bought her a leather jacket and built her a motorcycle, and helped to protect her and her brother from the cops. That is, until Vince got stupid and let Drake see Dany with a black eye. Dany found out she was pregnant the same night Vince went missing, never to be seen again.

A couple of months later, Daenerys was with Drake when an attempt was made on his life. She was only grazed in the side, but her hysteria over the safety of her baby and over Drake's condition caused her to start bleeding. The nurse who had been seeing to Drake came in, told her he was dead, noticed that Dany was bleeding, and walked out, telling everyone who tried to see her that she was sleeping and her condition was stable. By the time anyone noticed, it was too late for the baby.

She was released the next day, picked up from the hospital by one of Drake's lieutenants and taken back to the apartment she'd shared with him. She was told that the nurse had deliberately sabotaged her and Drake's treatment, in revenge for her son who had been killed by the gang. He asked if she wanted the nurse dead, and in her rage and grief, she said yes. A few days later she got a phone call that it was done, and that was the last she ever heard from the crew.

Drake had left her enough money to get by for a few months, a few things of his, and his dog, and English Mastiff named Delilah. She'd turned up pregnant just a few days before Daenerys did, and a few days after Drake's death, she had her puppies. Daenerys gave away a few of the large litter, but ended up keeping three, hoping it might help with her loneliness, although as soon as she could, she gave Delilah away too. So soon after her miscarriage, it was tough to watch the displays of motherhood.

It took her awhile to name them, but taking inspiration from an echo, she named the dogs Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal, figuring they were interesting and slightly intimidating names. Daenerys already had a plan, gathering to herself the ex-girlfriends, the disgraced former members, and all the other castoffs she could find of the old crew. They started small, a loosely organized team that helped each other out and ran the occasional con that might work better with two. Then word started to get out and they were offered more and more jobs, becoming a greater presence in the city. They don't have any name in particular, they're just "Dany's crew," and they now have a base of operations and hands in the drug trade and some bigger theft operations as well. Dany has a thing for stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, and in general she tries not to hurt anyone who doesn't deserve it, although her dogs have been a murder weapon more than once.
First Echo: The incident with the nurse killing Drake and failing to save her baby caused Daenerys to remember the names of her dragons, inspiring her to give those names to her puppies.
Preincarnation Personality: "Mother" is a fundamental part of Dany's identity. She had a stillborn son (basically) when she was fourteen, and formed a strong attachment with the child growing inside her which she still shows. She is a mother to her dragons and tries to rule as a mother -- with fairness and firmness, when she needs to, but gentleness and mercy, when she can. The people she's freed have called her "Mother" and she takes responsibility for the messes she creates. When she conquers Meereen, leaving the city quite broken, she's advised to make for Westeros and the war for the Seven Kingdoms she should be fighting, but she chooses to stay and stabilize Meereen, and learn everything she can about being a queen while she's there. She knows enough to know that she knows precious little about ruling. She learned the basics of authority as Drogo's khaleesi, and she is, in large part, still in love with him. She's had many offers and many flirtations, but Dany has never really fallen in love with anyone the way she loved Drogo.

Dany has a great deal of personal strength. When she loses her son and her husband in one fell swoop, she doesn't collapse in on herself or spend time grieving. She takes vengeance, hatches her dragons, and takes control of a khalasar, then strikes out across a desert. It's hard decision, but the best one; many people die in the trek, but the best case scenario for any other direction was that she would end up in the dosh khaleen, a group of crones that a khaleesi is meant to join when her khal dies. She's also quite intelligent and cunning. She takes the advice of people around her and has the self-awareness to realize that she doesn't know everything (despite being a teenager who should think herself invincible). She shows her cunning by using whatever she has at her advantage to win whatever battle she's fighting, and allows people to underestimate her to gain an advantage. "I am only a young girl and know little of war, but..."

Dany is very passionate. She can be as fierce and wild as her dragons, and she has a flair for emotion and getting wrapped up in the drama of a moment, as shown by her incredibly bold play to gain an army of Unsullied. She buys them with a dragon, then allows said dragon to decimate the city, riding along her new ranks to tell her slaves that she owns them now, and they are to attack their former masters. She also falls into bed with Daario, a sellsword, because she is highly attracted to him, and she noticeably lights up and yearns for him whenever he is near. At the same time, she is wearing a queenly mask that often comes to odds with her passion. Though it hurts her deeply, she locks her dragons away when one of them kills a child, and she resists Daario for a long time for the sake of propriety. She loves deeply and fiercely, but when she must harness or even suppress that for the good of her people, she does.
Any differences: Daenerys is reasonably more cautious in her reincarnation; largely because she wasn't raised being told that she is the dragon and the dragon is infallible, but also because she's a little older.

Due to the different circumstances around her pregnancy (and it also happening when she was older), she's also a lot less attached to her identity as a mother.

Roleplay Sample – Third Person: Daenerys woke with a hand on her shoulder and her cheek buried against something warm and furry. Inhaling, she turned her head, blinking sleepily up at Drake, who was smiling at her.

"Comfy?"

"Yes, actually, we are," Dany said, laying her head back down on Delilah's side. She had both arms snug around the huge dog, nearly as big as she was, as they both slept on the couch. "We're doing women's work," she said, eyes closed as she spoke. "Very important. Go away."

Drake just laughed. "Really? Cause it looks like you're sleeping."

"Hey, fuck you. Spawning is hard work, okay?"

She opened her eyes when fingers were brushing hair back from her face. Drake looked worried, which was a patently ridiculous expression on a man like him. "Still tired all the time?"

Dany yawned and finally let go of Delilah, rolling onto her back. "I'd way rather have this than morning sickness," she pointed out. Having been woken by their voices, Delilah got up and slowly padded over towards the door, laying down again in front of it.

"I'm gonna take her for a walk," Drake said, and before Dany could answer, she was lifted into the air, giggling as the burly man held her like she was nothing. A brief kiss, and he carried her into the bedroom, setting her down in bed and tugging the rumpled covers over her. Neither of them were exactly the bed-making type.

"Sleep," he said, kissing her forehead. "I'll wake you for dinner. Chinese okay?"

"Yeah. Ooh, egg rolls. I need them. And something with pork. Sweet and sour! Also beef and broccoli, I've wanted broccoli for like two days."

Drake smiled again at all the orders and stood up. "Okay. Do you want me to let Delilah in with you when we get back?"

Dany nodded, smiling sleepily at him. She could already feel her nap tugging at her again.

"Sleep well, baby," he said, trying to leave quietly.

"You too," Dany answered, too drowsy to say something that made sense.
